Old Black Wood is our first offering of driftwood. In the coming weeks we'll be adding some other varieties as well. Old Black Wood (so named by ADA) is the most common driftwood style used by Takashi Amano himself in the creation of so many of the beautiful aquascapes featured in the Nature Aquarium Gallery and AQUA JOURNAL magazine over the years. It contains no tannins to stain water, and of course sinks immediately-- so no soaking or water logging is necessary. Just a good rinsing and perhaps a light brushing and this beautiful driftwood is ready for aquascaping. So here's how we work the order process for driftwood: Because every piece is unique, and because there are so many pieces from which to choose, we found it was nearly impossible to list every piece individually. Also, Old Black Wood in particular is not so much "single centerpiece" oriented, but rather better grouped with multiple pieces comprising the hardscape. So instead, we ask that you email or call Jeff Senske for a driftwood "consultation" at no additional charge. Simply tell us what size tank you have, your budget for driftwood, and what some of your aquascaping/hardscaping goals are. Jeff will then hand select a group of pieces-- ranging in size when necessary-- that work well together. You can email us at: jsenske@aquariumdesigngroup.com, or use the "Send us Feedback" link on the Home Page. You may also call Jeff at (281) 924-8894 between 8:00a.m. and 7:00p.m. CST, Mon.-Sat.
