Aquarium Design Group's many years of aquascaping knowledge and experience has given us a strong sense of what makes an effective hardscape. Not only for live planted aquariums, but for innovative hardscape-only freshwater designs and the minimalist styles gaining popularity. We are proud to offer the opportunity to access some of the great materials we have used over the years in a unique format. Beginning with driftwood– you will see not just mere examples of the type or species of driftwood, but the actual piece you are buying. We feel this is the only way to to purchase such material online. It offers the chance to begin to more accurately formulate your layout ahead of time because you have a strong sense of the general character and influence of the individual piece or pieces of driftwood. You can also look for similar shapes amongst different pieces of driftwood to further achieve your aquascaping goals. Our first driftwood species offering has abundant character and a wide variety of shapes, so it becomes possible to create very different looks in different layouts. The pricing does reflect the hand selection process, photographing, and cataloging of each individual piece. We avoid offering pieces that have little or no value to aquascaping, and this takes time and management not usual in the current marketplace. But remember that these materials are the cornerstone of an effective aquascape, and once purchased they will be useful for many years. There is a timelessness to great layout materials that make it a sound investment in your aquascaping and creativity.
