There are 2 styles of inflow Lily Pipes and a wide variety of sizes to fit most all common tubing diameters and aquarium sizes. The "new" style inflow Lily Pipe is characterized by a lower profile and finer "slat" type intake openings. It is equally as attractive placed over the back or, in following ADA placement philosophy, over the side of the aquarium. The design of the original ADA Lily Pipe inflow makes it visually best suited placed over the side of the aquarium, but certainly it may be placed over the back if necessary.
